Author: Summer
Summer holds a Master’s in Communication from Northwestern University, with an undergraduate background in Interpersonal Communication and Women’s Studies. After spending over a decade living and working in Chicago throughout her 20s and early 30s, she now resides in the suburbs with her husband of five years and a stepson preparing to head off to college.
Originally from a small town where the path to marriage often meant finding your high school sweetheart and settling down nearby, Summer took a different route. With parents who have been married for over 50 years, she grew up seeing one version of love—but her own journey unfolded in a far less predictable way.
For much of her life, she searched for answers to the “why” behind life’s twists and turns—especially in love. What did I do wrong? Why is this happening to me? When will it be my turn to be happy? Now, with years of experience (and overanalysis) behind her, she offers insight to those navigating their own paths. She doesn’t claim to have all the answers, but she has learned enough to recognize the patterns, mistakes, and lessons that shaped her—and she’s ready to share them.
In her own words: I’m in an amazing marriage now, but the rocky road to getting here is filled with stories—lessons I wish I had known sooner, not just about relationships with others, but with myself. I’d love to share them with anyone looking for a fresh perspective on love, growth, and the wisdom that comes with both.
